The next morning, most of the bus was hung over, so we took a liesurely drive to a town called Antibes where our campsite was. Once again, the weather was messing with us because it suddenly became really warm. We spent the first night going to the beach with some others in our group.
On the way home, we came across an amusement park where all the rides were in English. It seriously felt like we had just stepped into the PNE. No matter how hard we tried to immerse ourselves in French culture, we just keep getting surrounded by English tourists. oh well. The literal high point of that night was when we took a ride on the biggest ferris wheel I've ever seen and saw gorgeous views of the French Riviera.
The next day we went into the hills to visit a French perfumery where we saw the process of making .... perfume! Even though the tour was only about 15 minutes, I had soo much fun. For those of you who guessed it was because there was shopping at the end of the tour... right on! Let's us say that I came out of there with a big bag and smelling like an old lady.
Then we spent the afternoon in town of Nice. They call this area Cote Azur (Blue Coast) and I can see why. The ocean has a tropical blue hue to it that attracts tourists to the beach like honey. With the palm trees and high end stores, it reminded me of an older version California. Unfortunately, no one got to do any sun bathing because it started raining really hard so we just ducked into a cafe. Sadly, there was no shopping for us that day because all the stores were closed on Sunday.
