You can definitely barter here if you are a lone traveller and it is in a great location opposite the lovely beach front, though a bit of a stroll to get into the towny areas with shops and restaurants.  The staff work here seemingly around the clock and are reliable for advice on getting to the station at particular times. the rooms are lacking refurbishment and the bed was "clean" to the extent that some may not want to sleep in it but by now im not fussy. TV with plenty of channels and a ok bathroom. all for 8 dollars.
