Sawadee Khrap,

Thailand’s self proclaimed greatest team teaching duo is at it again; though this time our adventures take us from South East Asia to the South Pacific. The bustling streets of Bangkok have been replaced by the sleepy sprawling suburb that is Auckland, culturally appropriate attire of fisherman’s pants have been replaced by a gortex windbreaker, Tuk tuk transport has been replaced by a more traditional 4 wheel vehicle, and binges on cheap beer have been replaced by binges on cheap wine. But unlike the ever changing cultures and scenery around us our goals never change, we remain steadfast and resolute in our conquest as aspiring world travellers. After driving out of the Auckland airport and immediately getting lost in the menacing streets of south Auckland our first purchase was not a city map, but a surf guide to New Zealand. Goal #1: leave no break left behind. Since the words “Kareoke DJ’ are permanently printed on the back of our new van, we decided to purchase a pink portable karaoke machine and make the van official. Goal #2: Show this isolated country (and hopefully some Swedish backpackers) the importance of having a karaoke DJ in your life. And despite our best efforts to not wear matching outfits or spike our hair in the same direction, an Indian assistant at a used tire shop still approached Tim to inquire if the 2 of us had met over the internet. Goal #3: To prove despite sharing similar interests….and the same double bed in the back of a Nissan Vanette, that our relationship is strictly of a heterosexual nature. And though as each day goes by, we realize that our goals might be loftier than originally anticipated, we invite you to follow us on our journey as we explore New Zealand by land, by sea and by an arsenal of unforgettable duets.

Wow guys, First Dylan, then us (the Beatles), and now Karaoke Chronicles. You may have your first groupie! Your trip will make Magical Mystical Tour seem like a grade school carnival. I wish I were 40 years younger and I would grab my drum set and follow. Cheers, Ringo.

So when did you leave the Office behind? Can anyone else jump on this wagon and help render the chorus inadequate? Looking foward to a few surf shots soon. Ch ASBO

Hey Digi and Tim, It looks like there is still a bunch of room in the back of that van for a semi-tan, spiky-haired, quasi-hetero. You taking applications? Thanks for finally putting pictures up for us (even if they were of the back of a hairy guy with short shorts on). Looking forward to seeing the action shots of not only the surf, but also of the Vanette getting passed on a hill by a Geo Tracker. Can't wait to hear more about your adventures. KDKane

Jaank and English Taank, It's good to hear you've found yourself down under. Now you're close enough to buy a $300 ticket on Virgin and spend some time in a real country. English Taank, I know you've been there, but seriously... what are you doing surfing in NZ when there are world class breaks across the pond? Have fun with the Kiwis and don't help too many sheep over the fence. Raank

It's good to hear you guys joined the countless soccer moms in true minivan style. To impress the ladies with your karaoke, I suggest you two try a rendition of Hall and Oates "You make my dreams come true"....trust me...it gets them everytime. Hopefully you have stocked up on trolli gummie worms for the trip and most importantly have fun.
