We started this day late.  Our first interest, of course, was eating lunch!  We took the subway down to Chinatown and went to the Chinatown Brasserie, a very nice, large, and well-decorated restaurant.  Getting dim sum with friends was fun and left us with some room for snacks later.

After visiting the firehouse that was used in "Ghostbusters" (yay for touristy photos in front of a movie location!), we got a snack at Rice to Riches.  Rice to Riches is a fun eatery that serves an amazing selection of rice puddings.  You can select both interesting flavors and toppings.  I chose the cinnamon raisin rice pudding with pound cake toppings.  The best part is that they pack up your portion of pudding in these delightful little plastic pods, complete with little spoons, for your eating enjoyment.  It was quite crowded inside when we went, but luckily it is right across from a little park with stone benches.  We made our escape from the shop and sat down at the park to enjoy our tasty and filling treats.

In the evening one of my friends and I went to see The Nutcraker at the New York State Theater at Lincoln Center.  This is a beautiful area.  There were lovely Christmas trees up all over New York City, but I think the blue and silver tree at the Lincoln Center was my favorite.  The Nutcracker was excellent, the best production I have ever seen!  (But remember, I live in Anchorage and I've only seen it twice before).  I highly recommend this fun activity for a holiday trip.
