We had no idea where we were going and now have no idea where we went. However we know what we bought there, Had a hell of a job extracating ourselves from the jewellers - not because we wanted something but because we didn't!!
We did however spend time with the Kashmiri rug man who was very gracious and made us Kashmiri tea and gave us lots of tips for travelling in India. We went with very little money and no credit cards, thinking that would get us out of any situation where were tempted to buy as we "just wanted to look". Well how wrong can one be. Mr Kashmiri went home happy that day...and truthfully so did we. Although we did have nagging concerns about how gullible we were. We had no money...but in India it's not about money!!! its about pleasure and investment - my kind of place! "not a problem, my man bring your purchase to your hotel and you pay him there". So sucked in and nearly having to bash the jewellery man to get out of the place we went out to find our faithful 5 rupee tuk tuk man waiting for us!
So back to the hotel we went - life and limb at risk through the main road traffic in a bloody Tuk Tuk with the money collector in hot pursuit on his motorbike
