Day 8 and things are finally clicking into place a bit. Besides registering with the FRO, some kind of foreigners bureau of the government, I'm done with registration. I am still at my hotel for now, but will be moving to my hostel, Chandrabaga, on Sunday (see review.) I'm excited to finally be getting into my apartment where I'll get to meet more women. I've met some great people so far, but not many of them are women.
Same ole same ole last night. You know, going out to a Thai restaurant in India with three friends from Zimbabwe, one of whom is living in Turkey. It was a fun night. We tried the Indian beer, Kingfisher. I'm not usually a big beer fan, but it's not bad. We were at the part of the city called Pria. It's a Western-type shopping center with higher end stores, restaurants, more western markets, and a few clubs. I did check out one of the markets and finally bought some chocolate. I haven't eaten any of it yet, but I would swear that I slept better last night knowing it was in my fridge.
For dinner we went to Pizza Hut (we just snacked at the Thai place.) I asked for pepperoni, but they were out or just don't carry it. So,I got the sheik kebab pizza with eggplant, corriander, and cheese. Not bad, definitely not your average pizza, but not bad. There is also a Subway there so I'll keep that in mind for future Western food cravings.
The guys last night were great. Tongauy is a new student at JNU as well so we had a lot in common at the moment. And I think I got stared at more, but bothered less about it, walking around with a 6'4" guy friend. His father was a diplomat, and one of the other guys lives in Turkey right now and travels alot, so we had some really nice conversation about International happenings.
That's about all I have for now. I am posting a lot of pictures today so that save's me at least a thousand words, right? So, enjoy and I'll hope to have more soon.

I love Thai and Indian food, but I think you're getting the opportunity to taste the authentic cuisines. I have to admit, the pizza sounds, well, different, but then I don't think pizza should have ham and pineapple either and you can get those variations here. Glad you're getting settled in!

Hi, Lora! It is so great to keep in touch with your new adventures, both through your journal and the photos. I was in New Delhi for 4 days once--just long enough to feel overwhelmed by so many new sights, smells and encounters.
