Naxos was definitely the most low-key island, but there still plenty to see and do! In fact, Naxos is the largest island in the Cyclades. So, it has some varied landscapes, different types of beaches and coves, and hills and valleys. Plus it has room for plenty of goats :> The people of Naxos were quite welcoming and seemed to be enjoying island-life.
Naxos town has incredible old Venetian buildings, lots of interesting doors and narrow, winding passageways, and a hip waterfront with cafes serving coffee frappes, milkshakes, crepes, and, of course, souvlaki galore!! We enjoyed walking to a nearby beach town, Agios Prokopios, for lunch and a gorgeous beach with calm water and nice sand. We also ventured on a full day bus tour around the island; we saw some great sites, including a very old church and a kitron (citrus liquor) distillery. The roads on the island are quite narrow and windy, which caused me to get a bit bus-sick :(
