Our first trip to Little Nashville as the native would call it but the name of the town is Nashville, Indiana.
It has many shops for every type of shopper.
OK. I think I will still be able to recall the events of the second part of the great Story Ride that we took with some wonderful friends we met on Louisville MoJo. So they are our MoFo. I may get the hang of this slang sometime. I believe I left off where we were beginning to remount the motorcycles as to get on with the rest of our ride. We were not meeting anyone at Story Indiana so we could stay there as long as we wanted or limit the amount of time we were there to suit our wants or needs. Well, Don asked me if I wanted him to back the Rebel off of the spot I was in because he knew the last time I had tried to back out of a graveled spot I sort of dropped my motorcycle. Neither the bike nor I was injured but both looked like in stupid position. So I let him back the Rebel out of the spot.
Anyway, Sandy put her key in her Sportster. It
did not start. So she wiggled the key around as she had done in the
past and it had usually started but it did not this time. Wade and Don
both tackled it but the Harley Sportster still would not start. Wade
parked it back in the spot and Sandy sat on the rear of Wade's bike
which only had a single seat.
We were on our way again. Now we only had three motorcycles and a
pick-up truck. Wade was the leader so he escorts the way. We headed
towards Brown County State Park. But that was not our next stop.
I loved the view and the ride. The leaves on the trees were just
changing colors for the season. I must say a lot of them were still
green but there were many that had changed color.. Just view the
photographs I took and you will be able to see the beautiful that we
saw on the road trip.
We stopped at a gas station as we arrived in Nashville Indiana. The
stop was to as usual take a small break to talk, use the restroom, and
smoke cigarettes for any of the people that smoke. Wade and Sandy
walked across the street to the CVS to check to see if it possibly had
any straps to use to strap the motorcycle in the rear bed of the
pick-up truck in case it would not start on our return trip to Story
location where we had left the Sportster. Don had already checked
inside the Speedway gas station and at this location they did not carry
such an item.
Once again, Erondia and John decided to stay in the truck while Wade,
Sandy, Don and I rode into the town to visit the shops.
It was such a
wondrously beautiful day and so many people at were in vehicles of all
different types were visiting Nashville Indiana. There were very
limited amounts of places to park whether you drive a car or a
motorcycle. There were many places charging people to park but we rode
around a little bit and found a spot that was easy to get to and we did
not have to pay to park.
We walked down to The Men's Toy Shop which sold cigars and such items.
Wade and Don each bought a cigar of their choosing as Sandy and I
looked around the shop. It is a very interesting shop for both women
and men. We walked around a small amount before we all decided it was a
bit too crowded and thought we should make this trip again in the
Spring so as there may be less people there then so that we could be
able to see more in less time.
We returned to where we had parked the bikes and made the return trip to the gas station. Erondia and John were still where we had left them as they were viewing all the motorcycling and other type vehicles that past their way. At that time, I asked Don if he would mind if I became his passenger once again. He asked me if I was tired of riding on my own. I giggled and stated “No, I was not tired of riding. It was just the shoes I had decided to wear was not really fitting under the shifter and it was making it difficult for me”. So then I asked Sandy if she minded if she would ride her Rebel again since it was hers. She laughed and gave me the nickname 'Half way Connie'. She rode her Rebel back to Story.
When we arrived back to Story, Sandy looked over her Sportster again. I
think we all were wishing it would start again but it did not start.
Wade rounded up a few guys which was sort of funny as there were people
there now that they knew from other rides they had went on.They all
were able to get the Sportster into the truck and Wade made sure it was
tied down. After, I took some more photographs and everyone else talked
a little while longer we then took off for the ride back to
Crothersville.
It was a wonderful day, a remarkable ride with great friends and I cannot wait to do it again.
