Montana Travel Guide
200 years ago, the Lewis and Clark expedition crossed Montana on their way to the Pacific coast. The expedition encountered grizzly bears, wolves and antelope on their journey. While the wildlife is still abundant in the area, travelers nowadays will encounter a pleasant ranching community in the midst of the Great Plains. Forests cover 25% of the states area and the Missouri and Yellowstone rivers cut across the state, making prime territory for hiking, fishing and camping.
