During my months of preparation I came across the name of this restaurant on more than one occasion, and usually with a good review. The book I used for this trip ("DK Eyewitness Travel Guide to Mexico") also mentioned this restaurant.
I went there on a Sunday night, around 7pm, which is early by Mexican standards, so I just missed out on the musicians, but I still had a good spot, and great food. I tried the enchiladas, which came in a silver metal bowl, with two chicken enchiladas, covered in guacamole and cheese. The menu didn't mention what was in the enchilada, and the waiters didn't speak English, so I kinda took a punt, and hoped it'd be something I'd like! It was.
My only disappointment was that I had to sit in the smoking section - not that there was really a non-smoking section, just a seperate room with open doors. But, then again, Mexico City had no non-smoking policy!
