Four sore feet later.... we took the bus, the Turibus (patent pending apparently).
Toured a large part of the city in relative luxury, headsets thrown in! From the very posh areas of Zona Rosa and Polanco (Burberry, Gucci etc like Bond Street) to the more everyday areas with MacDonald´s and Radio Shack - can´t knock it as we had to pay a visit to buy battery chargers which would work with the half-hearted voltage here (only 110v).
Highlight of the day was the visit to the Anthropological Museum - one of the best museums in the world, for MesoAmerican artefacts, history and culture. As you would expect there were a fair few skeletons and remains, but the real stars were from sites such as Teotihuacán, Palenque and sites in Guatemala.
Had lunch there too, was served on what looked like cremated pancakes. We believe it was supposed to be like that! We´ll try most things but drew the line at that one!
The main square in the evening it is a real hive of activity. We were lucky that the local Aztec dancing school were limbering up so we were treated to a very energetic display of dancing - the guy playing the flute looked like a 70´s hippie who had decided to stay.
