All good things must come to an end.  Goodbye Ouray.  Anne and I left and went to Silverton (another nice small town), Durango, and then on to Mesa Verde National Park.  This would be our third National Park vist.

We drove in to the Park and stopped to have some lunch at one of the picnic tables.  Let me say this, when it comes to handing out the "upkeep" funds for National Parks, Mesa Verde does not even make the list.  This place hasn't been updated since it opened.  Sorry to say, but Mesa Verde fell short of my low expectations.

People often ask Anne and I what we are going to do for work when we finish our travels.  I'm not sure.  I can tell you this though, I'm not going to be an Archeologist.  Looking at ruins, or excavating them for that matter, has got to be some of the most boring things known to the human race.  I'd rather go back to General Liability claims than dig for some ancient culture's toilet.

Fortunately, the day wasn't a complete bust. We were able to travel in Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and Utah. All states are within seconds of each other. bkh
