Despite the title of the blog, neither Denise nor I have any intention of going anywhere near a set of skis. Mind you, some years ago, the British Army spent a shed load of money sending me to Norway for an Arctic Survival course where I spent 2 weeks strapping 2 thin planks of wood onto my feet and using 2 pointed sticks to propel me from A to B. Sometimes I succeeded in doing so but mainly learnt 42 different ways of falling over in the snow! Somehow, I passed the course and the Army rewarded me by sending me to Singapore for the next 2 years! Anyway, I digress. The SKI element is an acronym for Spending the Kids Inheritance.
Denise is a retired nurse and I am a retired Police officer, both with a love of travelling and a fascination for the Far East. Denise grew up in Hong Kong and I had my Singapore experience. We both returned to Hong Kong in 1980 on a 2 year Army posting and promised ourselves we would return.
Our proposed itinerary, over the next 5 months, is Dubai, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Australia, China and then Hong Kong before returning to UK via Bangkok and Dubai.
We hope to update this blog as much as we can, and as interestingly as we can, during our travels and hope you're not to bored or disappointed at the content.
