Though my plans for the coming year are familiar to most people who may read this, please humor me for a moment- or just skip this portion of my blog.

After receiving a Presiden't Scholarship from Southern Methodist University last year, I booked a trip abroad to the United Kingdom. For 38 weeks, I will be living and studying at University College in London. I will also be visiting family and friends in Germany during my two months of school vacation and my summer break, bringing this next year to a sum total of utter excitement!

This trip is really going to be amazing. The enormity of what I will see and do hasn't really hit me yet, but I'm obviously getting anxious for it all to begin. Not only am I going to live in London and have the personal, individual experience of a lifetime- but I am lucky enough to have family and friends- Isaac, Heather, my parents, and Katie- who will be joining me for the ride. I know that I will miss my dogs and my dear babe in Irving terribly, but my Texan life will simply be on hold for a bit.

In the meantime, I am going to revel in this extraordinary chance that I have been given. London, here I come!
