Traveling is my favorite activity and I usually travel with my sister, the perfect traveling partner. Our favorite things to do when traveling include sampling the local cuisine, enjoying outdoor activities, learning about the culture, and taking pictures. Oh, and did I mention how much we love to eat?

Wang Thai
"This thai restaurant, situated above the grocery store in Pereybere, has a wide selection of options, including some local seafood along with the the traditional thai fare. We loved the mixed fruit drinks, although they were more artfully presented the first night we dined there. The phad thai is flavorful and filling, with perfect bite-sized chunks of tofu."

"A cheaper option than Les Copains D'abord, this restaurant is near to Blue Bay and offers interesting pizza options as well as seafood and creole dishes. I really enjoyed my white tuna in a honey lime sauce and would also recommend the smoked marlin pizza. If you like dessert, you will be happy with their menu!"

Chantemer
"If you are staying here during any sort of problematic weather, be prepared to be treated as an unwelcome freeloader rather than a paying guest. Our Lonely Planet mentions the owner goes out of her way to be helpful. The only thing she went out of her way to do was to remind us constantly of how hard on her it was, to have guests!"

Les Copains D'abord
"This lovely restaurant on the Mahebourg waterfront provided us with two wonderful meals during our stay. An excellent appetiser is the palm heart and crab dip, served in a shell and delicious on their warm olive bread. Their portions are generous; I was not able to finish my seafood pasta (lunch) or my wild boar curry (dinner)! With both lunch and dinner our meals ended with a complimentary shot of 10-year-aged rhum! Be sure to come in the evening for live music."

"This British chain of take-away food is a wonderful option for people who like fresh, tasty, and healthy food! The sandwiches, salads, and wraps are all made fresh daily and there are many excellent smoothie and dessert options to grab as well. I could eat here every day! The only bad thing about the Pret we went to is that it is located in the Central MTR Station - not very good ambience but convenient if you are hungry and traveling by MTR!"

The Savoy Hotel
"The best thing about this hotel was the fact that they serve free wine and snacks from 4-6pm every day! They also have an excellent location. However, for some reason they could not transfer calls to our room one of the nights that we were there - a minor inconvience, but they made up for it by not charging us for the outgoing calls we were forced to make."
