My 3 days in Melbourne were awesome! We stayed with Nath's parents, Heather and Steve, who have a beautiful home in the Vic country (Torquay), and on Saturday my friend Mel gave me a tour (a shopping tour that is) of the city - I had such a good time and enjoyed Melbourne alot... Mel did a great job showing me the highlights - Chapel Street, City Centre and we had lunch at Southbank while there happened to be a food and wine tour happening also. I am suprised at how much Australia's prices seem to have changed in the 2 years I've been away - $7 something for a salad role, and $3.50 for a latte - absurd!
On Saturday night, Nath iarranged to have drinks with his friends and brother. It was nice to meet them all. it was a fantastic night although a few of us were pretty messy towards the end! Yager shots are to blame!
Nath also did a good job of showing me around the beaches that Victoria has to offer, including Bell's Beach, Torquay and Geelong Bay. I was suprised at how nice they are - clean, great sand (if a little gold), and not overcrowded!
The weather of Melbourne did catch me off guard a little - 37 degrees one day when we were visiting the beaches and 16 degrees the next.. I am not used to that at all!
