“...lesson learned...never change your mind!” |
The day started really early and a group of us met up and caught the train to Flemmington Race Course. The bubbly started flowing as soon as the bar opened at 10am! It was a cold, windy day but the atmosphere was still great. We wandered around the grounds, getting views of the racecourse and placed our small bets on the other races that were going on during the day. I didn't win anything but that wasn't really the point.
The group we were with was great! Lots of fun and lots of laughs! Of course there were some dramas going on as the day wore on but I think it had alot to do with too much alcohol being consumed by certain parties.
The big race was great! I did have some bet and won about $20 after. If I had places my original bets and had not changed my mind last minute then I could have added a few zeros to that amount...lesson learned...never change your mind!
Then I went to see Munni who was working in a few of the marquees that day. I got to hang out in the $600 marquees and get hot chocolate and a yummy berry cheesecake! I felt quite out of place but it was nice and warm at least!
Afterwards the group of us went to a bar in the city and danced and laughed some more about the day. In all it was a great experience and tons of fun!
