Melting in Melbourne

After a fair Spring climate in New Zealand we arrived in Melbourne in the midst of a heat wave. Out with the flip flop and shorts- hurrah!

Michelle had fond memories of her last visit here and we had a great time in this ultra modern, smart city. Michelle took the chance to do a little last minute Christmas shopping while David went off to visit the MCG. [Great stadium combining the best aspects of a football stadium with its large capacity and proximity to the action without losing the class and traditions of a great cricket ground. I'd have to see it on a match day rather than a tour to judge properly though - D].

We had some lovely food - especially a really authentic Vietnamese in Melbourne's large Vietnamese district, and an Italian where David enjoyed the only turkey dinner of our Christmas.
