So after Trinity beach, it was din din time with Anna, Jen, Janet and her crew. Had a delightful meal, it was so good to meet up with her again. Got to meet all her new diving students, too, which was great, and after dinner the night was spent dancing away at PJ's, a suitable last evening. Bloody fantastic, actually. So my last hours in Cairns were weepy ones. Finished up some shopping this morning, and all the places were playing this sappy sappy music, like 'I will remember you' and well, you get the idea. I was fightin back those tears. Janet picked me up around 11:15 (on time for once!) and we grabbed some lunch, then off to the airport. Oh, boy, look out. I was doing pretty well, considering the circumstances. But then it got to the actual goodbye, and not just the talking about saying goodbye, and I wasn't crying, but I might as well have been. So then she started to cry, and I lost it, and we were just this hideous mass of tears and runny noses. Gave the airport staff something to talk about. But I got on the plane, and that was that. Once in Melboure, I called up this Servas guy, ended up at his house meeting a variety of his family and friends because he was having a birthday/housewarming party. Slept there, and they all took me out to breaky at Greasy Joe's, which was great. A completely random, random night. I love how I just go to random cities, stay with random people, have a great time, and then hop a plane home. Now that's a layover!! So, that was my 12 hour stint in Melbourne. Hopped on my flight, which I was booking it through the airport to make, lost track of time a bit. Flew to Auckland, LA, and to Phili, about 22 hours all together, not to difficult though. I think once I get all my frequent flyer shrapnel together, I'll have already made it to 2 free tickets or something ridiculous like that. Yes, back to Aussie! And now I write to you from the comfort of my living room, at 1 in the morning which is 3 tomorrow afternoon for me. Completely just in this shocked/denial state that I am at home. But, this is the mentality I'm working on: The next 8 months are my 'holiday' in the States before moving home to Cairns. So we shall see. Thanks for reading all who did, I'll see most of you in a weeks time. Cheers :o)
