Heading to the Mt. ... >
Hotel Mbale Resort was pretty OK. But as usual you'd like to watch out for some of the things such as:
- Mosquito's (I was dumb enough to see the overhanging nets as decoration and not as nets, please do open them and protect yourself from the mosquitoes)
- Additional precaution: Apply balm/cream as well against protection
- Rooms: Don't go for the ones on the ground floor as they are not well maintained (scratches on the doors, cracked mirrors...anyways see pictures there). Go for the rooms on the first floor, they are newer. Apparently these folks don't really pay a lot of attention to maintenance.
- Food: Average, breakfast had better varieties than regular meals for dinner/lunches.
- Gym: I was surprised to see the Gym at that place. I woke up at 06:30am and worked out. Equipment was old and not many freehand weights but I was able to manage.
- Swimming Pool: Not as small as that one from Lira (Lillian Towers) and was well maintained. There was a pool table also on the side.
- Staff: OK. Cordial but not really receptive on customer needs. Sometimes one had to wait a bit longer than usual.
Hope this gives you guys some ideas on what this hotel is. Maybe next year there might be a newer hotel as this place too is getting a lot of business. So you never know...But for now, you'd want to still use this as a last resort.
