We arrived in Margao with the sole intention of finding a hotel near the train station, so we didn't have to worry about getting there the next morning.  After all it was a 7.15am departure!

Margao itself was really busy and bustling, but so so dirty as all of India seems to be.  We went to the train station and asked about accommodation.   What we didn't realise at the time was there was a cheap room in the train station itself.  We were told this on the train the next day.  However because we arrived so early we were told to go to the Government run hotel in the city.  It wasn't cheap but it was a nice room to stay in for the night and a comfy bed.

We had enough time in the late afternoon to have a wander around Margao while trying to find ourselves an alarm clock.  The one we had bought in Heathrow was rubbish.  It has the quietest alarm I have ever heard!

After finding that we went and ate and settled ourselves in for an early night, not before watching yet another film poorly edited so all references to sex were cut.  Ah well that's life for you.

The next morning we were called back pay a tax that had not been mentioned to uson either of the previous 2 occasions we had been to the reception desk.  We got to Margao station and rushed our breakfast becasue we thought we were late.  We then found out that yet again an Indian train was late!  This was pretty funny as Margao was the 2nd stop on the route, about 15 mins away from Vasco De Gama, yet the train arrived 35 minutes late!!!
