Well, the fun started here, and went on for quite some time.  You wouldn't have thought I was planning a round the world trip and was supposed to be saving my pesos!

First stop was London, for a night out in The Albany on Tottenham Court Road.  Spent the weekend there (in London, not just in that pub!) staying with my brother, who had just moved to the big smoke.  After that it was Nottingham, where the end of what had been a 10-day bender began to take its toll!  It was totally worth it for a night in the old haunt that is the Walkabout (no, we didn't go to the Irish!!).  Had a great few days though - thanks to everyone who came out for a few pints!

A week or so later was my work leaving do, a few in The Rectory, then The Swan, then into town for one last night in 5th Avenue, it was great!

The next day was my last day at work, so that was spent frantically trying to collect email addresses and the like off my machine before it was lost to IT purgatory.

That Saturday was Gen and Nics Hag do, and my unofficial Manchester leaving do!  Ended up in the Walkabout in Manchester - don't ask where my little bro ended up...!!!

That just left one more England leaving do - the Warrington pub crawl that never was.  (I'll be back Mags!)

After that, it was time to take poor wee Al (the Almera), who was quite unwell at this stage, home on the boat.  We made it to Dublin, and then up to Fermanagh the next day, but bless him it was a bit of a struggle.  He went to car hospital, and the diagnosis wasn't too good. There goes the rest of my RTW funds.

Back up to Dublin and had a great leaving do in - where else - the Palace!  I had never liked it in 1st year, so it seemed the perfect venue!  Had a top night though.  After that, it was back up to Fermanagh for a week of leaving all the stuff I had to do till the very last minute.  Some things never change.  The morning I was due to leave I was up at 5.30 to actually pack my bag.  It's not like I had a whole week to do it or anything...

Quick plane ride over the water and I was back in England.  About 2 hours later I was in Didsbury to meet Mag and Mr Cassidy for a few beers, that turned out to be a good night! Wilmslow and Warrington were not prepared for us!!!

After a few hours recovery, (and more hours moaning), I found myself in Ego in Stockton Heath for my final (yes, I promise!) leaving do.  Had a great night, and laughed my head off.  Thanks for my leaving pressie guys!  What do you mean you don't remember - you don't sign those things for everyone do you??!!

And that was it.  Up and out the next morning, first thing.  Knocked on Mags' door on the way out.  "Mag, I'm off."  All I heard was a less than coherent "What? Off what?"  Ha ha, chocolate for lent Mags, what do you think.  I'm off round the world!!
