Just to warn you, I am forced to write this before I am allowed to write any blogs. Due to the fact that Krystal is not near as funny as Erik, our Greatest apologies.

Today was so much fun. We woke up in the morning to the sounds of the waves crashing against the beach. The hostel resort was so nice. It was like being in a a holiday resort. Apart from our tent-like accommodations. But on a whole the place was wonderful. It was recommended to us by a travel agent in Cairns, otherwise we probably would have just passed it by. I was especially glad that we went here because it was something that I didn't do last time I was in Australia.

The two girls from Germany in our room suggested that maybe we could go in with them to rent a car to see the island. It was pretty cheap for 4 people so we said yes. They went to pick up the car and came back with what can only be called a pink Barbie car. It was hilarious for us to se Erik with three girls in a tiny pink car. Please refer to the photo. We had soooooo much fun. We drove around for a while checking out  a few of the beaches. Then decided that we would go for a hike on one of the many to choose from on the island. That was short lived. All of them seemed too long in the extreme heat and the one that we did find seemed closed. Or at least it was a good excuse to go and lay on the beach. After a quick bite to eat, we drove in search of apparent wild wallabies. Yay! we found them. They we all over these rocks that we found. They are called rock wallabies. There was a tour group there as well feeding them so they gave us some food and we got to feed them as well. So cute.  Our last stop with our Barbie car was to Alma Cove. A beautiful beach in this little cove. We set down out towels for a tan and a swim. Erik and I went in the water with was a lot of fun due to the large waves. While everybody else was napping in the sun, I went on a little hike of my own on the rocks and saw all these huge green crabs. Gross. We filled the car back up with gas and headed back to the hostel exhausted and burnt from all of our suntanning.

We got back, Erik made us a lovely dinner of spaghetti and meat sauce. Very delicious. I unfortunately got one of my "I'm sure many to come" migraines and went straight to sleep. Boo!  Today was awesome.

More to come....
