We were excited no doubt to get to the last stop in Spain. Madrid was pretty cool when we first got there. We did a bunch of touring again. Even got on one of those double-decker-hey-i'm-a -tourist buses for once.

Madrid was nice. Really really hot though. Thank the lord our accomodations had a/c though.

After a couple of days Vasa went back home to Toronto via London. And I checked out of my nice place and into some other hostel. The street I was on was loaded with hookers. Even at 7am, they were there. Incredible. Disgusting women, but they were dedicated to their job I guess. My night there was shared in a room with an Aussie couple. I didn't actually see them until the morning - they were passed out when I got in that night. That was easily the hottest night of my life. No a/c and I had to wear clothes for obvious reasons..

Want to point out that my pals Tara and Wade met up with me in Madrid on the last day there.

At the end of Madrid I was sick of the place so I spent hours at the airport anxious to get out of Spain. I think I've had enough Spain in my lifetime. I boarded a flight and flew out to Basel, which is a corner of three bordering countries - France, Germany and Switzerland. The airport is actually physically in France, but there's a single road you can take that only leads to Switzerland. This way you can clear immigration once for Switzerland. I know, neat.
