The title says it all, as you’ll see when you read my journal entry. But, the facilities of this “resort” hotel are magnificent!

The grounds (over 12 acres) of the hotel are lushly wooded, broken up by paths threaded though with exotic plants and flowers. Natural stone and gurgling channels of water are everywhere. The lobby/lounge is welcoming - with a huge fireplace in its main area -and cozy – with numerous nooks perfect for relaxing or hosting a private get-together. The rooms themselves are rustic-looking, with their own fireplaces – yet ours had a very modern bath, complete with a glass shower shall, indirect lighting, heated towel rack and telephone. I also really liked that, at one end of our Jr. Suite, my husband & I had a ‘sunroom’ type of area, complete with its own sofa. Actually, each casita is not only separate, but unique. For cocktails our second evening, we convened at our in-law’s place, because they had a private patio!

My first view of the Pueblo’s main dining room was… wow. The glass, the lighting, the cloud forest  setting all combine to give it a magical aspect. The food was tasty – though not memorable – and the service was adequate. Maybe I was still too dazzled by the LOOKS of the place to remember much of anything else! The “Café” restaurant – situated in a wishbone junction of the railroad – was equally nice… plus exciting when a train came in!

Overall - with their free eco-excursions, bar, gift shop, two restaurants, spa, etc.etc. etc – this hotel DOES have it all. My only suggestion to make it a perfect experience would be a tad more emphasis on personalized service. The staff and wait-persons could be a little more helpful, & a little friendlier!
