“Checking in from LA” |
Hey everyone. Checking in from LA. Having a good time here. We spent the first two days at the hostel doing not much had a fair bit of jet lag. The hostel is OK but its right under the LAX flightpath and its a little dodgy. Not too comfy walking arounf the area either which makes getting food interesting....
We ate at the hostel "resturaunt" one night which was shite.... but we scored a few free beers which was good.
The first day we got the free shuttle to Venice beach and Santa Monica which was nice. We walked from venice to santa monica pier and back. Sheree got her first does dose of US food sizes. We hadn't eaten in 32 hours so we ordered a few things. We ordered a hotdog. pizza slice and 2 chips. Lets just say we threw out half the pizza and most of the chips. The food in LA is bad and expensive for what it is. The only cheap food is really bad for you. Venice beach was fairly different. Lots of weird people down there but they have stuff like basketball and muscle beach down there to watch which is cool
Yesterday we headed to Universal studios and did a LA night tour. It was cool to get out of the hostel and into a nice area and have a decent meal. We did all the rides etc at Universal and even got sheree on the Mummy ride which is an indoor rollercaoster in the dark. The ride is short though so they send you through twice. We then had dinner at Bubba-Gump Shrimp co which was a bit of a novelty. After that we did the night tour which went through Hollywood, Manns Chinese theater and Beverly hills but we were knackered by then.
Today we went to the mall because it was a free shuttle from the hostel. It was soooooo boring. They dropped us at 12 and picked us up at 3.45 and there was nothing there! smaller than garden city. We thought there would be a supermarket to get decent food but even with walkin two blocks down the road we couldnt find a supermarket. The only thing we bought was nailclippers and 2 teraki chicken and rice to eat cold for dinner (yes the hostel food is that bad!)
Anyways off to Miami tomoro and im running out of credit. Until nextime

Well well. Ree's stacked it - American's serve large amounts of crap food - Todd's perving on Muscle Beach (?) - and Todd's to tight to pay extra credit on the iinet...sounds like it's all as normal! How far is it from Venice to that Pier? Got any photos? **Harper News** I was offered the Engineering Manager position at work. I turned it down cause the money wasn't there, but I was flattered none-the-less.
