DAY 1
Wingy spent a fair amount of time on the phone to New York trying to arrange a replacement for his MP3 player which had died in South America after just one week before we headed back to Australia. After much discussion, they agreed that if we bought an IPOD (A$650) when the original unit was returned to them they would credit our account (A$550) - seemed reasonable enough!
That night when Wingy was packing up the original unit to sent it back again, it miraculously came back to life! - We are now unable to send back a working MP3 player - so we now have 4 MP3 players - 2 IPODS, an IAUDIO and an some other gadget that Wingy bought in Hong Kong!!
Spent the rest of the day in Hollywood. Not like what I expected at all. The Hollywood walk of fame is stars laid into the footpath on Hollywood Boulevard and it goes for at least 3kms! In the afternoon we went to the gameshow "Deal of No Deal" and we were actually part of the audience that they used in filming the show. It was quite interesting to see how the show comes together.
DAY 2
Took a tour today around Beverly Hills to look at the homes of the Stars. Beverly Hills in a very fancy place. They have their own police team (Beverly Hills Cops of course..) and unless you are a resident you can not walk through the streets, park your car, or slow down when driving - or you will be arrested!! The residents are not allowed to do any maintenance in their front gardens. To ensure that the streets always look immaculate the local council is responsible for maintaining all of the gardens and planting all of the flowers. If a tree dies - it is replaced! Some of the homes we saw were: Britney Spears, Sean Connery. Hillary Duff, Madonna, Tom Cruise, Marilyn Monroe, Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston, Kim Basinger, Steven Spielberg and heaps more..
Spent the afternoon window shopping on Rodeo drive (Wingy looked at the cars and I looked at the diamonds!) and had lunch on Sunset Boulevard - didn't see anyone famous though! Ended the day down at Santa Monica pier on the coast where they filmed Bay Watch.
Day 3
Drove to the other side of Los Angeles to go to a DEWALT store. As a result we know have to buy some more suitcases!! In the afternoon we wandered around the shops at Universal Studios - arrived too late to go to the theme park - we didn't think it closed until 10pm.. - but were not to disappointed as it looked almost identical to the version we saw in Japan. Planning to go to Disneyland tomorrow - and Wingy wants to do some more "star stalking!".
