Well here is my requisite blog entry for this week. I have been a little lax but I have to be excused- too busy living to write about living to, I guess.

It’s actually been pretty uneventful here, with me just studying and trying to get ahead on the work in some of my classes. I am about halfway through a few thousand word essay and I plan on finishing it with a whole day of work tomorrow.

The best thing that happened this week, actually, was Chris’ birthday and the celebration that Vincent and I planned for him. We wanted to get him something really fun and special, so we kept searching for a Frisbee that we could all use at Hyde Park or Regent’s Park- somewhere to hang out and have a picnic.

So, anyway, we started out walking and looking at random stores- until it turned into a three hour search that we decided to end by going to Hamley’s- a five-story toy store on Regent’s Street in London. Well we finally found the Frisbee (it was 3 pounds, or 6 American…A little expensive but totally worth it).

The Vincent and I headed to the Tesco Metro in order to get the ingredients for a Lemon birthday cake and some super yummy quesadillas. Chris is the guy from Nashville that lives in the room across from me and his favorite food is Mexican, so we felt obligated to give him a little taste of it despite his being in London.

Anyway, we bought so many vegetables and made a super quesadilla meal that everyone in the kitchen participated in. It was a lot of fun and Chris really enjoyed the handmade birthday cards that Vincent and I painted/drew with crayons for him- oh, yeah- and the shoe polish we got for his super shiny shoes.

So the week went pretty well, though I admit that once my school day is finished and I have spent hours studying alone, it feels pretty lonely and kinda boring. At least Vince comes by every once in a while and makes me laugh- he’s pretty goofy and very sweet (for a French guy). At the end of the day though, I really miss home and am counting down the weeks until Heather and Isaac will help to lessen my homesickness.

Anyway, I really plan to dive into my studies next week in order to stave off the boredom, but I really cannot imagine studying tonight- with the terrible headache I have.

Talk to you guys again soon.

Love, Jessica
