Well our first day here was a bit rough, due to the excessive jet lag but we managed to make it to Westminster Abbey and Parliment. After we took all the touristy photos we had a small lunch at a nearby cafe called Garfunkels. After that we just kinda roamed the streets and then decided to just make our way back to the hostel so we could sleep and have a full day the next day. Luckily we had the room to ourselves and had a nice 14 hour sleep. Once we woke up we grabbed some fruit at a local grocery store and headed to the Tower of London where we were given a tour of all the towers and told of all the gruesome details of what happened within the walls. We also saw the imfamous crown jewels and medival armory. Then we walked across Tower Bridge and headed towards the Globe Theatre, and the Tate Museum. Then we walked back across the bridge because Katie and I had to make it in time for the Jack the Ripper tour. Disgusting as it was, it was very entertaining and we got to see all over the Whitechapel area of London. By this time it was dark, late and katie and I were a bit freaked out being the American chickens that we are we headed back towards the hostel and ate at an Italian cafe right by our hostel. Two girls joined us in our room who had just come from Paris. They were both from USC in Cali and were wonderful girls to room with. Today we went to Buckingham Palace to see the changing of the guards and then hiked through the Underground to get to the St. Pauls Cathedral. We walked all 530 steps to the top of the dome where I discovered I have an intense fear of heights. haha. But after I calmed down we took a few photos in the muggy rainy weather of the amazing view of all over London. We ate at an English pub and tried the local Ale, which I didn't like so much but I figure you have to try everything you can while you are here. I can't upload photos at this internet cafe but hopefully I will be able to in Paris. Katie and I are still exhausted from all the traveling and the weather has gotten us a bit down so we are excited to move on. We tried to get to Madam Tussads (sp) Wax Museum and then Kensington Palace but we just didn't have enough time, sadly. But I feel like I've experience London as much as I could. More to come!
