Up and off to our Spanish buffet breakfast to locate a coffee, fruit and some half decent scrambled eggs. Billy has decided coco-pops are no good, but he loves the Spanish cupcakes, magdelanas so that’s good. The hotel is full of people from all over the globe so I can’t identify who eats donuts piled onto ham, or which country decides that a famine is iminite and hoards off the entire tray of freshly cooked omlettes! Next stop to Caribe Costa, Park Aventure’s aqua park.

Heaps of sunscreen, togs and we arrive ready for action with many other people. The park was very busy but we managed to go into all the pools, the wave pool, lazy river, playgrounds and got a fair soaking. Will went on an amazing snake of a slide that traveled really fast in the dark, drowned you, gave you a wedgie and dumped you with no dignity back to land!! We queued up for about 15 minutes to a high ride with 6 spaces and zoomed down the slide with Billy clinging to Will and glad to head back to the pool. On one water playground Billy was happily unaware that a huge bucket of water was filling up above him. He was mucking around and firing water guns at everyone and the bucket tipped, and drenched him. We laughed then realized he was really upset and barreling top speed out of there. We lunch then headed off inland to Logrono, about four hours drive.

I am currently writing this having got lost on/off the autopista too many times. No we aren’t drinking! The highway isn’t an autoroute now and the roadhouse stops are called Ars A! The landscape is dry and barren, but interrupted with irrigated fields of green crops and large villages with at least one church dominating it. This stretch of road has an amazing number of windfarm windmills turning...we have never seen so many. They don’t make a sound and we have not seen any endangered parrots decapitated to date.

Will suggested that the Spanish landscape is so boring that the Spainish went to great lengths over history to leave and explore and conquer other countries. We are also trying to think if Speedie Gonzalez is Spanish..but sadly we think he’s Mexican. So that means the only Character we know that comes from Spain is Dora the Explorer on Foxtel. She has a fox called Swipper and a bull called Benny. This also reinforces Will’s theory on Spanyards exploring to get away from the landscape because Dora has a famous backpack and map!! Do you think I MIGHT BE A BIT BORED HERE RIGHT NOW??

We got to Logrono and got a nice hotel with Wifi cheaply (around 75 euro inc. parking). We walked around looking for a restaurant and found a hundred cafe's full of men drinking, and no real restaurants to eat in. In the end we gave up as it was past 10pm and headed to Burger King (first take away in over a week and Billy was suitably impressed).

As we walked quite some distance we were amazed (and Kim was very pleased) to see that roughly two out of three shops are consistently shoe shops. Maybe she will get her espendrills tomorrow morning.

Tool of the Day

Will for getting out a cold latte from our bag at the water park, trying to put the key away and dropping the latte, picking it up quickly to avoid much spillage only to find the bottom of it had sprung a leak, this followed by the frantic attempt to drink as it spilled quickly out of the bottom of the container, only to tip it too far and spill it out of the top again...all in all a lot of latte on the ground that didn't seem to dissapate during the day as it was still in a puddle on the concrete when we left!

Hi Guys, Spain sounds very interesting and poluted at times. Perhaps I dare to say it but Spain needs more rain to wash it away. It still sound very hot compared to here. James has been skiiing with the school and it was so cold it snowing while he was there. Laura had her formal last night and looked beautiful in Leah's dress. We will let Leah know. Glad to her that Spain has a few things that Billy likes to eat. Looks like you know every theme park around the place, sure sound like fun. Stay cool and don't get sun burnt. Take care love Joanne
