I had a rather rocky flight into Manchester...descended through a thunderstorm and the wing of the plane was struck by lightening - very scary!  Bucket (dad's brother, real name Phillip) and his wife were there to pick me up, and we were soon on our way to Wales  - although we had to stop off at the pub for my first Welsh beer :)

It's been a quiet few days, which is very welcome after the week in Hong Kong and my nail-biting journey to get here!  I've been going for lots of long walks in the countryside, and I have to say this region would rival NZ - it is so picturesque.

It's been nearly 20 years since I was here with mum and dad, and it has been wonderful catching up with people who I haven't seen in a long time.   And yes Dad, John and Iris are taking me to see Tom Buttonhole tomorrow!

Yesterday I wandered down to Tynyrwtra, Neil and Elinor Francis' farm (some of you may remember them coming out to NZ to visit mum and dad a few years ago?)  They are busy with the lambing season now so I donned my wellingtons and a jacket and 'assisted' (well, actually I just watched) a lamb being born - very exciting!  I could get used to the country life - although the hearty meals have left my jeans feeling quite snug!
