Another early start, up at 6am for 7am pickup fro Kakadu Dreams to go to Lithfield Natonal Park. Meet the driver Joe & the tour group, 9 of us again & same truck as in Kimberleys.

I get chatting to Joe about the Kimberleys & he says  I'll stroll through Litchfield & Kakadu as Kimberlerys 9 day is extreme & only for hardcores. I feel well chuffed I got through it and had the time of my life too. He does say not to comapre them though cos I'll be dissapointed, I head in with an open mind.

Joe takes us first to the Wetlands visitor centre to look out over the plains and learn some stuff, then we go to Adelaide river for the jumping croc cruise. Its well hyped up with Croc attack headlines plastered all over the walls but its still fantastic, we cruise along the river with a warning not to put any bodily part outside of the boat as it will be seen as food. No worries there, my arms are firmly tucked in the boat. Also if we fall in don't splash about as it attracts the crocs and if we need to swim, do so around the guides in a group.. .talk about looking after number one! The crocs are great and so powerful. After an hour we head back and meet Joe to go Croc farm and eat some legs. It tastes a lot like chicken with a slight fishy taste, not bad but smells a bit funny.

We now go to an authentic aborigine shop so we can learn how to play the Didgeredoo, apparently I'm a fast learner & try every one in the shop the best one is $1500 and huge... will cost a fortune shipping that bugger! I resist the temptation to buy one for now and we head back  to the truck and drive to Litchfield National Park.

The first stop is a short walk from the picnic site down 140 steps to Fortescue Falls, the waterfall is gorgeous & the current is well strong I fight my way over to the foot of the falls then swim under to go behind it and the view looking up is awesome, so beautiful and very noisy. I swim back under and the current takes me back out like a rapid, its well fun and I do this loads more til its time to go for lunch.

We have some sarnies by the stream & Joe tries to teach me circular breathing through a drainpipe in the water, I can't get the grasp of it though oh well!

Next along is an even shorter stroll to Buleys Rockhole. Its a cascading waterfall full of rockpools looking like jacuzzis. I try and slide down the falls on my ass like a rapid but its too shallow and rocky, so I give up and walk down. At the bottom is a nice deep pool so I jump in off the side, its not as deep as I thought and bash my foot, I was warned jumping is banned here cos its too dangerous but hey ho... they only tell you not to so you do ... don't they! I soon find a deeper pool and am diving in over and over. I sit in the jacuzzi like pool for a bit and lose my shorts down to my knees, the waters only 1ft deep so have a bit of trouble relocating bottoms before standing up. Joe calls us back up now.

Last stop is the Magnetic Termite Mounds (which aren't magnetic) they are made up of Termites spit and poo mixed with dirt to protect the king and queen and are up to 5m high and the same hollowed out under the mound.

We call into the Bunyan Tree on the way back and Joe challenges me to eat these two pices of meat on a napkin and he'll tell me what they are after, they look like scrummy salami so I'm straight in there, taste gorgeous too. I make him wait till I'm finished chewing and swallowing til he can tell me. He then says that they were a bulls scrotum... mmmm nice... will def try that again!
