Today we got up early and took a bus from Rhodes Town to Lindos which is south of Rhodes Town along the east coast. The bus stopped quite far above where Lindos was situated so we had a bit of a walk down. Lindos is a mess of winding alleys with lots of hills and steps. The alleys are so narrow that only pedestrians and donkeys can go through them.
We hadn't yet had breakfast so that was the first order of the day. We thought finding a bakery would be easy but there weren't that many bakeries and without a map we got totally turned around. We did finally find a bakery and got our pastries. Then we set off to explore the town seriously. We eventually found our way up to the acropolis where we got a good view of Lindos and the surrounding coastline. On the way down we had to be careful that we weren't stampeded by donkeys on the way up with their passengers.
By this time, it was very hot, so we made our way to the beach where Aidan swam. By early afternoon (it being very hot) we headed back up the hill to catch the boat back to Rhodes Town. Tomorrow morning we take a ferry to the island of Nisyros.
