In Lama land, there´s a one man band and he´ll . . . aah, you all know the words. So Lima, Peru, South America. First stop in the last month of the trip. Time to get back to work, back to being a gung ho traveler, hitting all the museums and sites I can right? Day one - some internet, a nap, and a movie. Well it´s hard getting back in the saddle. The next day I did take a long walk and saw some basic touristy stuff but I don´t think the full on ´see it all´mentality is ever coming back. The fact of the matter is I´ve been on the road for 5 months, homeless for nearly a year, and am just plain tired. I still want to see and enjoy everything ahead of me but I miss NY and won´t be unhappy to once again wake up in the morning and know where I am. So if I tend to take the easy route for the rest of the trip you know why.

But Lima, an interesting town with very nice people. I stayed in Mira Flores which is a better part of town with lots of cafes and such, but the city center was nice too other than the occassional armored car and fortress like compound.  I didnt see a problem but then again I haven´t strolled the slums on the side of that mountain.  They also have the biggest Chinese immigrant population in South America so the Chinatown is pretty big . It´s funny having a problem again ordering dumplings because of the language, this time with a Spanish speaking waiter. Aaah travel. Well, I hope to get a bit more motivation at my next stop. Cuzco and the Incas!
