Airport - big and scary. we had arranged for someone from our hostel to pick us up, after being warned of the local taxi scams. mike was very excited about seing someone with a board with his name. Sadly this was not to b. As we entered the arrivals loung we were literally mobbed by people trying to take us places, we were eventually stopped by a woman froma travel agency who spoke English. She rang our hostel and found they weren´t coming so arranged another cab. She was very pushy but quite helpful and we were glad to see the back of her, until she was waiting at our hostel next morning.
Lima - Big city, a lot more modern than I expected, you can get a 3 course meal for a pound (and we did), although their version of a dessert and mine, are very different. Their´s consists of a dodgy runny jelly. Mine does not. We spent 1 day looking at lots of cool buildings and the main squares and were mainly impressed with the place. We spent the next day being stalked by the travel agent from the airport who appeared mysteriously almost everywhere we went! We spent our second day there arguing, moaning, and mainly round a computr as we tried to accommodate what everyone wanted to do into a ridiculously short amount of time, and arrange to meet up with Sophie and Louise.
After that day, we pretty much had it sorted, and went for chinese basking in the glory of our perfectly planned trip to Peru! That night we went to bed early and prepared for our trip to Ica the next day.
