Red Rock Canyon National Conservation area is just a few minutes west of the Sumerlin area of Las Vegas, or less than 20 miles west of the Strip.
Red Rock Canyon includes a one-way 13-mile scenic drive, including a Visitor’s Center which offers information about hiking trails, recreation opportunities, wildlife, vegetation, and geology.
Although BLM Ranger led hikes are offered, their schedules are very much subject to change.
Red Rock's many hiking trails are described in brochures available at the Visitor Center.
The Scenic Drive includes many stop locations for sightseeing and photography and the hiking trails are accessible from the designated pullouts and parking areas. The scenic drive is open daily from 6 a.m. until dusk

Also for bargain shoppers, a second brand new factory outlet center, inclusive of most designer brands, has just opened north of town.
