Review of Bergendorfs or Bergenhofs or Something

The Berkendorf or Bergenhof or some such thing (I have blanked on the name because of the trauma of staying here). Oh wait it is Berkenhoff Lodge on Scannell Street. Not the gloomy experience of the Pepper Tree, but does seem to attract the unfriendliest travelers in the North Island. You can drink here, which makes it tolerable, but the dining room feels like a school cafeteria and is about as segregated as a one, look there are the jocks, over there is the chess team, and let's not forget the stoners. It has it's own bar so trips to town can be limited.
