my trip to nigeria with my bf of the time, Kachi, who was born and raised there. Dec 27th -- Jan 14th
after just arriving in lagos, the largest city in nigeria, tho abuja is the capital [img=http:/ /img58.imageshack.us /img58/5296 /dsc1269smsspv3.jpg]
african cities and villages are DIRTY. welcome to the 3rd world... waste management doesnt exist. people kinda just throw it over their shoulder wherever they happen to be, and it really gets everywhere. when it piles up enough in certain areas, they rake it into a pile and burn it. believe me, burning plastic and gasoline smells delightful. theres huge amounts of pollution; they dont bother to worry about emissions from anything.
we stayed at kachis sisters house for a bit, thats her youngest daughter, ada. got a ton of cute pics of her later, the kids LOVED having their pic taken

a panoramic view from the top of the stairs. most african housing looks kinda like this, aka postwar shacks

sunset. but all day the sun looks really different there... those arent clouds, its always hazy! [img=http://img58 .imageshack.us/img58/5352 /dsc1286smsskp7.jpg] [img=http://img231 .imageshack.us/img231 /6996/dsc1289smssah8.jpg]
along the highway... pretty gross! [img=http:/ /img59.imageshack.us /img59/7169/dsc1296sfy3 .jpg]
morning rituals... theres trenches along most roads that people throw most their trash and whatever else in. this isnt the ghetto, this is middle class for lagos!
