Hello All,
Edinburgh was lovely. The next day we continued north through the mountains. Every corner was a new vista. Just beautiful, I took loads of pictures. We stopped a couple of times on the journey, once at a whiskey factory for a tour and a taste. I definitely do not like whiskey.
We stayed at this beautiful family run hotel/bed and breakfast (keep in mind there are 50 of us). It was in the middle of nowhere with a view of the mountains from literally every direction. In the back yard there were mama sheep and lots of little baby sheep too. Everyone just took a break and sat around the fire, which happened to have a bar in the same room. I had to start the fire though, the group is made up of mostly Austrailians and they had no clue.
Today was more sight seeing. We visited Loch Ness and tried to spot the monster...i had no luck, but I got a real cute stuffed animal. Later in the day we took a cruise on another Loch (meaning lake), Loch Lomand. I don't think the pictures will do it justice. There is so much fog and rolling mist that it's tough to get a good shot, but I tried.
We've paired up with two really nice girls from Austrailia (Tanya and Rebecca). Unfortunately they continue on to Ireland on Thursday - they've promised to make me a photo cd of their journey.
Right now we're in Glasgow. Mostly just a big city. The small towns are so much more interesting. This is fairly industrial. Tomorrow we head to Liverpool for a tour of all the famous Beatles landmarks.
Kelly W - our tour manager seems to have a thing for SYBG as she plays it every morning - I think of you. Hope the office is well. Say hi to Sandi for me!
Britt - hope admissions aren't too busy these days and you're able to devote all your time to facebook!
I have to run to meet up with the group again, I'll write more soon,
Laura
