After crossing the border into Honduras - a process that took over an hour, I had to get to Copan Ruinas. However by the time I got a taxi to the next town and waited for the next bus, and by the time the bus got to La Entrada, where I had to change buses, the last bus to Copan Ruinas had left.

As a result I had to search for a hotel for the night. It wasn't all bad though, since I found a nice hotel for $10, which, although expensive for my budget, had a private bathroom and a TV (something I haven't had for a while)!! That night I went to the local restaurant and had dinner. Here, I met the local mayor - an extremely friendly gentleman, who complemented my Spanish proficiency, having been told that I had only studied the language for 3 weeks. I also chatted to the other people in the restaurant, who all had the hospitality of the Salvadorans. The rest of the night was spent lying on my bed and watching TV.
