When we were planning our trip to Poland, the Sheraton Krakow was not our first choice, but other options were already booked. We chose the Sheraton even though the photos and the description on the Web site weren’t very interesting. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the hotel is tasteful, modern and comfortable. The warm wood front desk and soaring lobby/restaurant are attractive and inviting and the check-in staff is gracious. The rooms feature the Sweet Sleeper bed, small but well appointed bathrooms and high-tech phones with tourist and weather information. We really enjoyed the diverse breakfast buffet in the lobby restaurant, too. The only downside we experienced was crowding in the pool area: the deck around the pool had a limited number of lounge chairs and they were always in use.

The hotel’s décor incorporates the history of Krakow with replicas of the faces from the top of the Cloth Hall in the atrium and photos of city buildings in the rooms. Despite the modernity of the hotel, you never forget the rich history of the city you’re in. The Sheraton’s close proximity to the Wawel Castle makes being a tourist as simple as walking out the front door and once we oriented ourselves to Krakow, we realized the hotel is an easy ten minute walk from the main market square. Krakow is a beautiful city and the attention to detail, fine service, comfort and convenience of the Sheraton make visiting an even more memorable experience.
