Fresh off the bus in Krabi, we hopped a shared taxi into the main part of town.  Being the high season, most of the hotels near the center of town were already booked.  It was looking like another night in a windowless closet, but further searching paid off and we found a nice room torwards the top of the hill.  Dropped off our bags and headed down to one of the night markets. 

Exotic fruits, flowers, and food galore.  I truly love Thailand.  As soon as we hit the first market, I got a bag full of fish cakes with Thai sweet & sour sauce.  Fantastic!!!  Three stalls down, Dan and I are ordering plenty of Thai curries while Ann is searching out some vegetarian delights.  After polishing all of this off, I'm back at another stall trying out some coconut shrimp balls...delightful.   "Would you like some mangosteens with that?? Don't mind if I do, and why not throw in some more of those fish cakes while we're having at it!" 

The first night market we came upon in Krabi. The fruit in the center front is dragon fruit, also very popular here in China. Sweet and delicious.

After gorging on delicious Thai food, we set off to walk around town.  Caught another beautiful sunset in this Karst landscape.  Before I knew it, we had come upon the other night market.  I sucked it up and had a seat at one of the first food stalls we came to.  This time, I ordered one of my favorites...pak boone with chicken and lots of Nam Pla.  Pak boone is the Thai name for morning glory, a type of water spinach...great stuff!  Nam Pla is fresh Thai peppers in fish sauce.  For me, this is paradise.  I became seriously addicted to Thai food while working at the Royal Barge for a year and a half in Scottsdale,AZ.  It was run by a Thai family of five-Simon, Took, Nhat, Sun Vit, and Oct.  Great times, delicious food.

That evening, Ann called it an early night while Dan and I explored some of the local pubs...fun times.  When I finally got back to my room that night, I could hear what sounded to be a great party in the making, so I ventured back out on my own to seek out the source of this fiesta.  Ended up meeting some locals and travelers and chatted the rest of the night (morning) away.  The next morning, we hopped a bus to the ferry terminal and set out for Koh Jum.  Back to some beaches.
