Right i know for a fact the photos are poo compared to what we experienced and words can't describe the mixture of fear and excitement and adrenaline rush. Last night we planned to have an early one as we wanted to do something with our day. We went out and had a meal both me and luke had the baracuda as it is so nice. You get a big steak of baracuda, a corn on the cob and a jacket potato for a pound. We ate there and then went to all the bars as usual. Luke was sensible and only had 3 beers and headed back for a smoke but i was in a cocktail bar chatting to an english guy and an american girl who lived and worked out here and found it so interesting i stayed and quizzed them all night about living in thailand and drank cocktails all night. I have been offered a job working in a dive shop taking people out snorkelling. I can start now but i want to travel around a bit and i have been contemplating it but my mum would kill me if i didnt turn up to my graduation ceremony. So i have sorted out going home for graduation maybe temping for a month to save some money and then i am coming back out in november and i am only buying a one way ticket. They both said that once you work here you stop paying foreigner prices and can live on the wages. The english guy summed it up and said i have nothing but i have everything. You have no posessions or much money but you live in paradise. I havent told my mum yet. Later after i left them i walked down the beach where a thai guy was playing guitar by candle light. I bought him a beer and asked if i could join him. More thai people came and they sung lots of thai tunes. Seriously it felt so surreal but absolutely amazing.
Today we heard about a lagoon so we went on the hunt for it with sam and the girls. We came to the 'path' to the lagoon but it is a rock face that you have to climb we went up and it was pretty hard climbing. We went to view point where you have a view of the whole island and it is beautiful then we went to find the lagoon. The lagoon is down a shear rock face with massive drops and ropes hanging so you can try to hold on if you cant find footholes. Sometimes you are literally hanging on the side of a cliff and this is no exageration if you fall you die. One of the girls and a bloke went back as it is dangerous but we were here now so carried on. The ropes are covered in clay and you cant get a grip so you have to try to find places to wedge your feet and climb down. I really cant emphasise how scary but exciting it was, my heart was beating so fast. At one point i lost my grip of the rock face and grabbed a rope but there was no grip. Luckily luke and sam were just below me and grabbed my trousers and held me hanging until i found a grip. They did actually save my life lol (cheers sam and luke). You may be reading this thinking we are nuts and you would never do it but it sounds weird i recommend it to anyone because when you get down there the lagoon is beautiful. We chilled in the shallow water then i swam through some of the caves. Then we had the fun part of getting back up. At some points you just had to find the best grip you could and just go for it, i cant say it enough so scary but i have never had an adrenaline rush like it. We all helped each other out and although at some parts it looked like we would have to be helicoptered out we all made it to the top. We walked back down and i was covered in clay but had the biggest smile on my face.Some people from norway took a photo of me because they said i looked so adrenalined up. We chatted to them for a while and they decided to leave it till tomorrow coz we told them you do not want to be down there and it gets dark. Absolutely amazing, its definitely the highlight of the trip so far and an experience we all agreed we would never forget. Later becky said she read the lonely planet and it advised not to do the lagoon coz it is to dangerous, oh well to late now and we did it., i have never done anything like it. If anyone ever does it make sure it is dry, it rained yesterday which made it so hard coz everything is so muddy. Most people who tried going down turned round but go for it it is so good
