We leave Hvar the next morning and head to Korcula. On the way we stop off at another cove for a swim, but this one is less secluded. Many other ‘junker’s, the name my family has given to the Katrina charter boats, join us. Additionally, several German sailboats with families of naked sailors share our cove.

For lunch we have fresh mussels. We think that is all we are having so we eat up. But little did we know that that was just the first course. Meat and potatoes followed.

After lunch we headed into Korcula, a smaller Dubrovnik. Korcula Town is one of the most attractive settlements on the coastline jutting out from the mountains on its own peninsula. We explore this city surrounded by solid medieval walls, the old town is laid out in a tight grid system. The locals claim that legendary explorer Marco Polo hails from this town.

After dinner we set out for some night life. The Festival of Saints parade, where cloaked men and children carried artifacts through town, entertained us for a while. Kim’s still looking to dance. “Just Dance. They’ll dance back.” is her motto, but no one is dancing. We meet some attractive men. Kim asks them if they are crew, but they say they own a vineyard on another island.
