January 26-Febuary 5
We arrived at the Weekender Hotel on Lamai Beach in Koh Samui and were very happy with our accommodation. Jen was thrilled with all of the shops, as the airline had lost her luggage and she was anxious to purchase some new clothes. She was excited to get 7 shirts, a skirt, 2 pair of underwear for about $35.00 Canadian.
We found many excellent restaurants and street vendors to eat at. Some of our favorite times have been relaxing on the beach and by the pool. We have fresh corn on the cob just about every day barbequed on the beach (it comes with bananas and coconut for a cost of about $1.00). We can eat at the street vendors for around $5.00 for both of us (including drinks). We have been enjoying the one hour long massages, pedicures and manicures. A combination of all three costs $15.00.
We went to Chaweng Beach to check it out. It is more of a party atmosphere. The beach is very wide and there are a lot of bars and restaurants. We had an awesome seafood feast with the biggest crab you have ever seen.
One day we went on a Kayaking trip to Angthong Marine Park Southeast of Koh Samui, which consists of 42 islands. We Kayaked through sea caves and along Limestone cliffs. We snorkelled and hiked up to a salt water lake within one of the islands. It was a great day.
The guys ordered 4 tailor made shirts each. They will be ready in two days. Today Ed, Darlene, Joseph and Jennifer are gone on a Zipline Adventure above the Jungle.
Tomorrow we will leave for Koh Tao to spend 6 nights there before heading to Nang Yuan for a couple of nights.
