Sorry for not adding to my blog in a week, but as you can probably guess I have been having an amazing time.  I am currently on the island of Koh Tao and am going to have to force myself to leave soon! Not entirely sure if I can...the island is beautiful, the scuba diving is awesome and I have made some great friends.

I arrived here a week ago after a long journey from Bangkok.  The first of a very long overnight bus journey with no sleep.  (Claire and Bex - I now know how you felt on that boat to Zanzibar...sorry!)  I am currently staying at Budda View Diving Resort on the south of Koh Tao.  On my first day here I did my Refresher Divers Course - Andy the instructor I had was fab and I soon felt comfortable in the water.  That first dive is still one of my favourites, the visibility was really good and we saw two sea horses.  Since then the visibility has been up and down due to the full moon but it is now starting to get a lot better.  No turtle yet...fingers crossed!

On my second day I started my Advanced Diver Course with Jenny (the Swedish girl I am living with at the moment) and a few English guys.  I loved every second! I am sure you will all be pleased to know I completed another night dive and there were no tears!  Still not a huge fan but I did enjoy the ascent, surfacing to the stars.

Since then I have been fun diving and snorkeling.  A few of us went to Shark Bay the other day.  You could only just about see the bottom and when I saw my first shark I decided to leave.  All those stories...it's always the surfers, the sharks confuse them with seals.  The others saw five  sharks.  Jenny went the week before and saw nearly twenty so I think I might try and brave it again.

After some persuading from nearly every instructor (i think they work on comisson) Jenny and I went on the day trip yesterday to The Marine Park a few hours in a speedboat north of Koh Tao.  Loving the speedboat, I think I will have to buy one instead of a car.  Not entirely sure how that will work in England!  The trip was amazing.  We did two dives which were my best yet.  We didn't go very deep which meant we had dives of 80 minutes.  I have never seen so many rays and puffer fish.  Tom (our instructor) had a little incident with a trigger fish.  They are really crazy and it went for him about 6/7 times..some nifty fin work required!  The scenery was breath taking and I am sure I can't write a jusified description so you will have to wait for the photos!

I am off to explore the island now - we are not going to hire out motorbikes as everyone suggests.  Being a passenger yesterday on the way for dinner was scary enough!  There is so much more to write about so I will write another entry in a few days.
