Chaweng on Koh Samui is loud! Here is where the action is. And here is where we are! Air crafts land and take off just above our heads, there are many Rolex watches for a buck which you can buy off the streets and the beach is full of people: Germans who get up at 7 in the morning to place their towel on a plastic sun chair. Pale English people who go red rather than brown and who settle for their bacon and sausages every morning. Americans who walk around with their bellies first and Aussies who play around with surf boards in the waves. And yes, there are Swedes too. Blonde and tanned with their bright coloured "foppa shoes" which can be bought off the street here as well. The whole world meets in Chaweng. Backpackers and charter tourists, budget travellers and upmarket first class people. The flow of sales men on the beach is endless. You can buy pineapples and coconuts, silk gowns, thai mats, handmade jewellery or footballs and hats. They all want you to buy and they try hard.
The beach on the other hand is awesome! Long, wide and great sand!! (The down side is that the water isn't very clear. Maybe that's because we're here during the monsun period though). I've read that the beach is excellent for jogging and that is a statement I can confirm. Other than taking jogs, me and Kenth have spent our nearly two days on the beach and walking around the shops and stands on the main street. We've managed to spend some money and also came to the decision that we will leave for Krabi tomorrow morning. So far, we've been away for 20 days and "ticked off" 7 destinations. We must be a restless breed of people...
