Koh Samet is a small Island about a 4 hour bus ride and a 45 min ferry from Bangkok. After our overnight train to Bangkok got in, around 9am on the 30th, we went straight for the bus terminal and got the next bus to Ban Phe, the mainland port accross from Samet.

It was a bit of an adjustment when we arrived, with so much disgarded garbage everywhere. It took a bit of looking for a place when we arrived before we were happy with one and agreed to settle in. At least, on the quiet side of the island where we were staying had decent prices - a mere $17 per night for 2 people. We took a walk to the more lively side of the island where we found the nice beaches. They weren't very crowded which was nice to see, but all white sand for miles.

The first full day on the island saw us hiking to the very bottom - about 4kms in total (90 mins) - a lot of up and down, until we found a patch of sand we liked enough. We spent the day there.

On the last day, we hoped on a motor cycle and did a bit of ripping around for an hour or so, then went back to a beach we saw and liked from the day before, only not quite as far.
