Kimberleys Day 9

We wake up in the dark and just roll the swags n bags up, throw them on the truck and head off, its a long driving day and we want a lot of time to play at Katherine. We get to stop for brekkie about 8 then carry on driving getting into Katherine about late morning.

We do a hike up the top of the falls to a plunge pool  where we get our final swim of the trip, its a gorgeous place to end. Very busy though compared to the seclusion we're now used to.

There's loads of jumping places and I dive straight in and swim to the waterfall. A few of us do some dives off the falls then climb up the top of them to another pool where we ride rapids through the falls, getting very bashed by the submerged rocks in the process but having a fab time. After a while we climb half way back down then do some higher dives off the waterfall then swim over to another high rocky point and do some jumping in from there, the rocks are very slippy and a couple of us slip down, I land on Nikkis head which luckily she just found hilarious and is not injured. We have loads of time before we have to get on the trail to go back to the truck. We're all hungry though & can't wait for lunch.

We eat with all the other tour buses in a picnic area then pack up for the last time and start the long drive to Darwin. We get in about 6.30 and after a long awaited shower and hair wash we all head out to Mindl Beach Markets for the evening. Dan picks us up on route & takes us back to town after where we have some farewell drinks in the Tap and end up drinking til 4am.

My lumpy top bunk is the comfiest place ever... I sleep very well!
