Kaiping
I flew to Hong Kong (19 Dec'2006) at night and stay at my friend's house for a few days.
In Hong Kong for a few days, meet up with another HK friend on one of the night since it was her off day. We had a few hours together to catch up with each other update, that night I reach home very late.
On 24 Dec'06, we went to Kaiping together, my HK friend's mum and I went to custom to wait for my HK friend; she came from another place to meet up with us. I was not told that her friend is coming along, later when my HK friend arrived, she told us that another friend is coming with us, her friend was late and we had waited.
As soon as her friend arrived, we check in to custom, clear the custom and meet up with my HK friend's sister. Her sister has gone into Shenzhen to get bus tickets first. We took a late afternoon long distance bus to Kaiping, it was a few hours journey, by the time we reach Kaiping, it was dinnertime and we went over to her relative house to have our dinner there.
Kaiping, it was my second time there, my first time went there was in year 2005. My first time visit the place was so boring. When I check with my HK friend, where is her mum's hometown, she said; “Guangzhou” but don't know the town name. Therefore, I can't check any information about the town, so I've no idea where to go when I was there first time. My first time visit this town was with her mum and sister, my HK friend was not there with us. Her mum was spending time talking to her relative, her sister brought me around the town area, not much to see, just spend time talking with her sister and find food to eat.
Second time to Kaiping, this time my friend was there, she has read up note where to go for explores. Next day (25 Dec'2006), we rent a van for the whole day, pay for RMB200.
We explore out of Kaiping town and there were few place of interest, which is worth the visit. Those places of interest, non-local will not go there, as it is not famous compare to so many wonderful sigh in China but the local will visit those places.
I do enjoying the whole day visiting so many places, seeing so many different building structures. Those places I had visited, asking me to go for another time, I don't think I'll visit for a second time.
If you ask me whether is worth to visit Kaping, I would say, yes, if you are exploring Guangzhou province, but if you are coming from another country or another province, then I would say no to it. Kaiping is a small town nothing much to offer.
Next day (26 Dec'2006), early the morning, my HK friend and her friend went out with me to go and get a long distance bus ticket to go Guangzhou and at the same time I bought an air ticket for Guangzhou to Xiamen. After settle both tickets, we went breakfast together, we meet up with her mum and relative to had breakfast.
After breakfast, I've to rash back to get my bags, get a taxi to catch my bus to Guangzhou. I onboard the taxi and say good-bye to my HK friend, on the same day, they went back to Hong Kong, we depart our own separate way.
On a few hours journey bus all the way to Guangzhou main city, the bus stop at the train station near by area and from there, I took another bus to air-port to catch my flight to Xiamen.
